Terms of Service
The agreement between your church and us. Written to be read, not to be survived.
1This agreement
ChurchSurface is provided by GetWoven LLC, trading as Woven. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean GetWoven LLC, and "you" means the church or organization using the service and the people acting on its behalf.
Using the service, including asking for a free visibility check, means you accept these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a church, you are confirming that you are entitled to do so.
2What the service is
ChurchSurface finds what AI assistants say about your church, corrects what is wrong, publishes your public information in a form those systems can read, keeps that record current, and reports to you on what the assistants say when asked.
The service is offered at levels. Which level applies to you, and what it costs, is what we agree with you in writing before anything starts. Nothing on our website is an offer of a particular price.
3What we cannot promise
We do not control the assistants and we cannot guarantee results. ChatGPT, Gemini, Siri and the rest decide for themselves what to say. They change how they work without warning, they draw on sources we have no authority over, and they sometimes get things wrong for reasons nobody outside those companies can see.
What we can do is make your information accurate, complete and available in the formats those systems read, which is the part that is within anyone's power. We do that carefully and we show you the results honestly, including the months where you did not appear.
We also cannot tell you how many people asked an assistant about your church. That figure is not published by anyone, and we will never invent it. Our reports describe what assistants say when we ask them a fixed set of questions, and how that changes over time. Anybody offering you AI query volumes for your church is guessing.
4What we need from you
The service depends on the information you confirm being true. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you tell us: service times, address, contact details, ministries, events, and how you describe your church.
You also need to tell us when things change. We check monthly and will catch a good deal of drift on our own, but we cannot know that you moved a service to a different hour unless somebody tells us or your church management system does.
5Authority to speak for the church
Claiming a church's record requires verification that you actually speak for that church. This is not a formality. It is the check that makes the record worth trusting, and it is what stops anyone else from publishing a version of your church we would then propagate.
If your role changes, tell us, so that we can move the claim to whoever holds it next.
6The free visibility check
Anyone may ask for a free visibility check. We will run it and send you what we find, whether or not you ever become a customer. It costs nothing, it does not commit you to anything, and we will not put you on a mailing list for having asked.
It is a snapshot of what assistants say on the day we ask. It is not a diagnosis, an audit, or a guarantee of anything that follows.
7Fees
Paid levels are billed as set out in the written agreement we make with you: the amount, the period, and when it renews. Fees are payable in advance unless we agree otherwise. Taxes, where they apply, are yours.
If we change a price, we will tell you before it takes effect and you may decline by ending the arrangement under section 12.
8Acceptable use
Do not use the service to publish information you know to be false, to represent a church you do not speak for, to impersonate another organization, or to break the law. Do not attempt to interfere with the service or with other churches' records.
We do not sell placement. No church can pay to rank above another, and no amount of money will make us publish something we have reason to believe is untrue.
9Ownership
Your information stays yours. You grant us permission to publish and distribute it for the purpose of the service, which is the whole point of engaging us, and that permission ends when the arrangement ends.
The software, the site, the reports we produce and the ChurchSurface and Woven names stay ours. You may share a report we send you with anyone at your church, or with your board, freely.
10Warranties
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, the service is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Some states do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, in which case those exclusions do not apply to you.
11Liability
To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable to the other for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost revenue, lost donations, lost attendance, or loss of goodwill, however caused.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. If you have paid us nothing, our liability is limited to one hundred dollars.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
12Ending the arrangement
You may stop at any time by telling us. We will stop maintaining your record and, if you ask, remove what we published. Anything you have already paid for the current period is not refunded unless we agree otherwise, and we will not bill you again.
We may end the arrangement if you breach these terms and do not put it right within a reasonable time after we ask, or immediately if the breach is serious. If we end it for any other reason, we will refund the unused part of what you have paid.
13Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will update the effective date above, and for a material change affecting an existing customer we will tell you directly before it applies to you.
14Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, and the courts of Pennsylvania have jurisdiction over any dispute.
